I remember in early nineties a trend which had been slithering for years was suddenly taking gallops and the one who was not following it had an implicit warning, by not following, of carrying your style statement at your own risk! The trend was putting on Denim jeans. No matter what, where, who, occasion, Denim jeans was The Style. It could be seen fanatically being followed at all kind of social gatherings either it be baptism for a newly born or funeral of lately gone! Better to call it as a Status symbol. And that is very well justified too, after all one always desires to be The One among many The Ones! And nothing could have been a better prop than an affordable apparel to seemingly make you that One (No matter only in your opinion). But the fact that biggest race or mob in the world is not of unidentified common-man but of unidentified ‘Wannabes’, is hardly a hurdle or a point to bother for such people, I mean WE, to stop trying being the ONE!

Ah…Welcome to the world of ‘Wanna Beezz’! We all are one amongst them. I don’t mind if you are sorry to disagree, in fact I’ll happily agree to disagree!

Anyways, that’s the worst part of a prologue, kind of one written above, if you start blabbering about something which was definitely not the intended highlight of the conversation but somehow reached a point where from it tries hard to snatch the stage from main course drama. Well, I’ll avoid that.

So moving on from mid-nineties we take a flight and land on sometime in time clock to what we call as ‘Recent’. So talking about this era, things have changed much from what they were like almost two decades back but yes the strategy remains quite the same. I mean people, as in WE, still look for chances and opportunities which can give our desire, to be The ONE, an odyssey! Earlier as it was denim jeans which empowered youth with their style and status, now the throne has slowly been captured by something more flaunting, with an added ingredient of wit and sensible senselessness, identified in the world of Virtualization as ‘Blogging’. Everyone can be seen doing that. I mean almost everyone!

In recent times, like for last couple of years or a couple more, I did witness sudden change in thought orientation of many people. And that change looked weird for an instant! I mean imagine a man who daily puts on a dhoti kurta or a lungi suddenly walking on streets putting on, as we talked above, denim jeans!! The same kind of weirdness was felt by me when I saw some really well known ‘Vellas’ of my time, who anytime would have preferred taking a nap over a news headline were following The Speaking Tree (TOI tabloid) or Mamta Banerjee’s out-of-box solutions for Maoists rather than railway accidents or more important issues like relationship status between Shashi Tharoor and Sunanda Pushkar along with an exhaustive comprehension about the latest tweets done by the former. Now my concerns were obvious and when I ask “Kya maamla hai guru yeh aukad se pare Vishay par vichar vimarsh kyu aakhir??” the instant reply came “That’s the current topic of my blog-‘A morning tweet after a night long sweet!’. Padhta nahi kya? Bada famous ho chala hai, subah sham comments aate hain”. Oh! So this guy is also blogging.

So, the concern here is not Ms. Pushkar (Ah…She recently got married to Mr. Tharoor) and definitely not Mr. Tharoor but my friend who for all the unreasonable reasons, as I thought then, was getting a fairly well reputation going to his credit for just putting on an attire which was perhaps not his! But actually he has been doing great in this since then. By following a trend he eventually managed to explore his inner self.Anyways, in a jiffy I came across not one not two but quite a lot who were donning more or less same attire. Attire which unlike denim jeans was not attributing to your physical appearance for sure but attributing your inner value and providing some credits for carrying an eye to comprehend the circus on the other side of your two tiny eye balls.

So, different times different ways of letting yourself up and grabbing some attention (still being a ‘Wannabe’), achieving it by putting on a valuable or a trendy cut piece or by donning a Blogger’s attire (truly a ‘Wannabe’!), but at last perhaps finding a way of self realization is always welcome! Doesn’t matter what the process has been in achieving that, at least.

So, hereby giving some credit to be a ‘Wannabe’, regardless of time and era, since it is the desire to be like someone which provokes one to be better than The One! In course also exploring one’s own potential. So like mid-nineties Denim Jeans’ mojo we keep following the trend and keep our standards up and start putting on most trendy virtualized attire i.e. a Blogger’s cloak!

(For all those well dressed up guys I am sorry to compare your Jeans wearing desire with my ultra pathetic ‘Wannabe’ concept :P )
